Reading
a Chart.
 
Let’s start at the
top. Obviously the name of the song. To the right
would be the performer whom I transcribed the song from. In some cases it’s not
the original composer but another version. To the left is the ‘feel of the song’ :
kind of a simple description of way we should interpret the tune.
 

 

The DS symbol:   is a placeholder. Usually somewhere else in
the chart there will be a D.S. tag, which signals the reader to go back to that
placeholder. A Coda:
 is a placeholder. Usually somewhere else in

The paired dots at the beginning and end of these measures indicates
a single repeat.
